we never get permits on our stuff but we're like the last neighborhood left w/out cc n r's. I hear they fly drones now to check backyards for violations
I'm not an engineer or architect but I know how to do things the right way. I've already drawn up the permitting plans for when I replace and expand my upstairs back balcony and build in the matching ground level deck. it's gonna blow the city employee's mind.

huz wants to build a balcony way high and put a jacuzzi on it and that makes me nervous a little. but we did just do a whole roof with a pickle ball court so I guess anythings possible

@PinkCosmo lol, no. it's currently a rickety screened in 2nd story porch that doesn't even have screens. I'm doubling it's size, keeping the screened portion the same size and building a ground level deck with the same footprint so the upper level acts like a roof. I'm gonna make the lower level my outdoor kitchen.

@PinkCosmo the cats aren't allowed upstairs. neither are the dogs since one of them walked off the front balcony onto the metal roof. we had to grab his tail to save him.
